Charleston SC Wedding | Sara & Gabe

filed in

I really couldn’t have hand selected a better wedding to start my season with than Sara & Gabe’s Charleston SC wedding! If you know me at all, you know how much I adore Charleston… So being able to book weddings there all the way from my small town here in West Virginia is amazing to me! Oh, the power of social media… I’m proof that the hashtags work.

Sara’s taste is impeccable and I could tell from the very start when she forwarded her Pinterest board to me that this wedding would be a photogs dream… I jumped for joy (literally) when she and Gabe sent the official “We’d love to have you as our wedding photographer!” email and a few months later we met in Charleston for their engagement session.

It was wonderful getting to meet them ahead of time… We had so much fun during their session which only made my excitement for their wedding grow! Yes, I flew down to Charleston twice… I will literally jump at any opportunity to spend time there.

Sara & Gabe had a smaller sized wedding with just their families and best of friends. They were living in Atlanta at the time (now West Hollywood!!! Soooo cool.) and decided most of the venues there were just too big for what they needed. So, a Charleston destination wedding it was! The ceremony took place at White Point Gardens along the battery (love those oaks and that gazebo!!!) and the reception was held at Upstairs at Midtown, the most charming and quaint little space!

Everything was just as beautiful as Sara imagined it to be and might have even put the Pinterest board to shame if you ask me… I love big weddings, but there’s something about a smaller more intimate gathering that is just so special. I’ve had two smaller weddings so far this season and I’m a big fan… More, please! Oh, and GiGi (precious little pup you see in many photos) was obviously a big part of the day. And rightfully so!

To Sara & Gabe: Thank you, thank you, thank you for loving my work enough to bring me all the way from West Virginia to photograph your wedding (you actually made dreams come true!) and for allowing me to be a part of such a lovely day in your lives. I wish you all the happiness in your marriage and new start in HOLLYWOOD! Still can’t get over it… I’m coming to visit and we’re going out for Moscow Mules, okay? Love you guys!!!

Love, Hannah
