Intimate Ohio Wedding | Ali & Ben

This is a special blog post… If you’re reading this, you may already know that Ali & Ben are two of my favorite humans! Aside from being one of my closest friends, Ali is a fellow wedding photographer in the industry… So I was incredibly honored when she asked me to photograph their wedding! She called me one evening and said, “We changed up our wedding plans. Instead of going away, we’ve decided to have a small local wedding… And I want you to shoot it.”

I’m always more nervous to photograph other photographers, but was excited about the opportunity to do this for my friend and happily accepted! Funny enough, I ended up getting engaged shortly after her… And then I asked her to do the same for me on my wedding day! Talk about the ultimate trade!!! If you’re familiar with either of our work, you may be a little confused as to why we’d ask each other… Our style of photography is quite different. (You can see Ali’s work here.) While we chose to photograph each other’s weddings, we each agreed to edit our own photos! I realize others might think we’re crazy, but we are both so thrilled about it!

Ali & Ben’s intimate Ohio wedding was on May 11th and it was beautiful – no surprise there… The day was a perfect reflection of she and Ben’s relationship and everything they had always dreamed about for their wedding day. They had an intimate ceremony with only their immediate families and closest friends overlooking the hills of Mt. Pleasant. (Ben’s hometown) The ceremony was followed by the sweetest outdoor reception including more of their family members and good friends. The quaintness of The Farm Restaurant made it the perfect venue for them and each of the vendors helped bring Ali & Ben’s vision to life…

I am so thankful for Ali’s friendship and am delighted to have been there to document this day for she and Ben. They have such a beautiful relationship and I believe the photos from their wedding day so effortlessly portray that. I’m excited to share my version of them with you below!
